Use a Nano SIM card (12.3x8.8mm) on the 4G router. If it's a new SIM card, please follow the instructions from the mobile carrier to activate it.
If the 4G router cannot detect the SIM card or gets the error message "SIM card unavailable," first verify if the SIM card is inserted correctly. Secondly, please check if the SIM card is clean, especially on the golden contacts. If there is dust, dirt, or oil on the SIM card, you can follow the tips to clean it.
Please always turn off the power while inserting or removing the SIM card.
Open the enclosure and locate the SIM1 slot in the top right corner of the router motherboard.
Hold the lid of the SIM card slot and slide left to open the lid.
Put a Nano SIM card in the SIM card slot. There is only one correct way to settle the SIM card—the gold pins should be face down, and the notch should be in the top right corner.
Cover the SIM lid and slide it right to lock it.
i. Please use an unlocked and activated SIM card.
ii. Please insert a SIM card in the SIM#1 slot on the SIM card holder unless you choose to use secondary SIM#2 on the mobile interface.
iii. The 4G router can work well with a single SIM card. You can also insert an extra SIM card as a backup connection. To activate the backup connection, please enable the auto-switch option on the mobile interface.
